If you live in Upminster, or nearby, but you don’t know the area too well, then the next bit will give you some details on where the nearest theory and driving test centres are.
If you are planning to take your theory test, the only thing you need is a provisional driving licence, you don’t even need to have had any driver training (but it helps!). Unfortunately there are no places to take your theory test close by, with the nearest being Ilford (about 7 miles away). If, for whatever reason, you need somewhere else, the next closest town in Basildon. This is pretty much twice as far at 14 miles from Upminster.
Once this test has been passed, you can move onto the driving test. Thankfully there’s a few more to choose from without having to drive too far. Most people in this area choose to take their test in either Brentwood or Hornchurch, which are both about 3 miles away. If you fancied a different place, then you’ve got Goodmayes and Erith which are still within a 7 mile radius of Upminster.
So 4 driving test centres within 7 miles means you’re spoilt for choice. To find out more information on these, and other nearby theory and driving test centres, either speak to a Driving Instructor, or take a look at the DSA’s ’Find Your Nearest‘ service. Just choose what you want to search for and enter your postcode and you’ll get a list of all the nearest centres.
